Rapport’s Family, Educator, Autism, and Executive Function Resources for the New School Year

And just like that, the 2024-2025 school year has begun. The beginning of the school year is a time for fresh starts, venturing into uncharted territories, meeting new classmates and teachers, and navigating novel environments and routines. This time of year can be stressful for all students, teachers, and families, especially for individuals who thrive on consistent routines, such as students with autism. As part of my resources, I’ve compiled a few back-to-school tips for students with autism.

Here, you can find downloadable visual schedule, token boards, and numerous tips, such as raising the students’ comfort level by offering risk-free opportunities to become familiar with new teachers, classrooms, and schools. I’m mindful to practice added Patience, Flexibility, and Empathy during this time. It’s an exciting and a little bit scary time of year for everyone!

Here’s hoping for the best this school year. Please browse around the resource pages! Feel free to let me know if I need to add or change something, if there’s a broken link, or anything!

I wanted to get out what I had as close to the beginning of the school year as possible (I granted myself a couple extensions). I hope you find them useful. Organizing this was a great exercise for me!

More resources will follow, including pages for Neurodiversity, General Special Education, and STEM, because I’m not too old to admit I still have plenty to learn!
